Hybrid Cabs hit NYC Streets

This may not be the freshest news on the street, but for those of you that do not pay much attention to the type of cabs you get in, you might want to start doing so. A new fleet of taxi cabs are being spotted throughout the city, and believe it or not… they are hybrids, the Ford Escape to be exact. I have seen a few around and all the license plates seem to start with a 9. I am not sure how accurate that is, but keep an eye out, maybe you will prove me wrong.

In addition, the New York Times is testing out a new Hybrid truck to make their deliveries. The new truck will utilize the same basic hybrid technology, however, the trucks will have a power outlet on their front bumper to aid in recharging if the batteries run low. The only question is, will these hybrid trucks stand up to the abuse that these New York City streets can give?
